Wassaja Memorial Health Center hosted the first Fort McDowell Go Red Day on February 4, 2016. The community was encouraged to wear red in support of increased awareness of heart disease and stroke in women during American Heart Month. Did you know that heart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths in women each year?

In addition to wearing red, the clinic served red treats. Representatives from Gilsbar and Phoenix Indian Medical Center provided health education. There were also blood pressure/blood sugar screenings were done by Community Health staff. A prize raffle topped off the day.
Thank you to all who participated!
