DUI/Seat Belt Checkpoints
The Fort McDowell Police Department uses DUI checkpoints to help detect and deter impaired drivers. These checkpoints are a valuable tool in our effort to stop impaired driving.
Generally the Department will announce in advance when and where the checkpoints will be held, but we reserve the right to conduct any type of checkpoint without advance notice.
Marked Units & Uniformed Officers
Checkpoints are always done with marked patrol units and uniformed officers. We ask approaching motorists to pay attention to the advance traffic warning signs and stop as directed by officers.
Any checkpoint is successful when Police employees can safely go home at the end of the night.
