On behalf of the FMYN, I would like to thank our own Councilman Paul Russell along with the Salt River and Gila River Communities, and council representatives from the cities of Paradise Valley and Apache Junction who once again traveled to DC to Keep the Promise made to Arizona Voters and to educate members of Congress.
Thanks to their efforts “the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Resources passed H.R. 308, the Keep the Promise Act of 2015. During the Committee activity Congressman Raul Grijalva did offer an amendment to H.R. 308 which failed by a vote of 21-10. The Committee then approved the bill by voice vote. Going forward the House will go on their Easter recess for the next two weeks. We are optimistic when the House reconvenes H.R. 308 may be considered in late April/Early May timeframe.”
